Gyne Curves
Gyne-Curves.com or Gyne-Contours.com is a specialist lipo-sculpturing service brought to the women health arena by Restore GyneCosmetics. Working in collaboration with other aesthetic surgery specialists, we provide various forms of lipo-sculptuirng service. We offer mainly laser (Laser Lipolysis) and ultrasound Liposuction (Vaser Lipo) for the shaping and reshaping of the female pelvic contours. We focus mainly on the lower abdomen and pelvic areas, including hips, upper thighs and the buttocks. The aim is to help get rid of the stubborn fat distribution, which can be difficult to shift, by diet or exercise due to hereditary or ethnic fat distribution. The use of other non-surgical lipolysis techniques is also constantly being evaluated, as to their effectiveness in dealing with localised fat causing concerns for women.
Liposuction and Lipo-Sculpture
Liposuction is the removal of fatty tissue from various part of the body, after loosening the fat tissue through key-hole method, to help with fat and weight loss. It is a plastic surgery procedure popular with men as well as women, but we provide this service to women only.
Lipo-Sculpture is technically the similar procedure, but it is not designed for weight loss; rather it is for the removal, shaping and reshaping of fat deposits which persist, no matter how much exercise, massage or dieting is undertaken. It is not exclusively designed for the stomach and waist area, it’s a cosmetic surgery procedure that can also target problem areas such as the hips, buttocks, inner and outer thighs, and other areas of the body, to even out body contours that are unevenly distributed. To get the best result, especially in those with higher than average body mass index, it may be necessary to have the procedure at more than one time. This is because there is a surgically safe limit of fat which may be removed in one sitting. The average amount of fat removed during Liposculpture is 1 to 4 pounds, while with liposuction amounts of around 12-14 pounds can be removed in a single session.
The Lipo-Sculpture Procedure
Lipo-sculpturing or Body contouring service that we provide is limited mainly to the female pelvis and immediately related areas. As we are specialist provider of female genital enhancing aesthetic surgery, such as labioplasty, it is quite common for women to request at the same time, removal of fat around the lower abdomen, pubic area and sometimes the vulva, in keeping with the other procedure(s) being requested. Before any fat is removed, the area to be treated is injected with a buffered salt solution containing adrenaline, which controls bleeding and a long-acting local anaesthetic to ensure you will experience less discomfort after the lipo-sculpture procedure.
Lipo-sculpture involves a method of moving a shaped metal tube, known as a cannula, backwards and forwards to loosen the fat which allows it to be removed by a strong vacuum pump. Various sizes of cannulas are used to allow the removal of fat in a more controlled manner. Before the procedure begins, markings and drawings are first made on the skin to determine, how much fat needs to be removed. The duration of the procedure varies from 30 to 120 minutes depending on the extent of the areas requiring lipo-sculpture.
Gyne-Curves Lipo-Sculpture – FAQ
Question: Lipo-sculpture v Liposuction – Which is best?
Liposculpture differs from liposuction mainly because liposculpture usually removes less amounts of fat than liposuction and is more concerned specifically with body sculpting and more subtly reshaping certain areas of the body. To be able to decide which of these two is best for you it’s important to be aware of the benefits and disadvantages of both. If you are looking to just have a small amount of fat removed from a particular area then liposculpture would be preferable because liposculpture is not meant to significantly reduce body weight but instead is meant to improve the appearance of certain areas of the body. So, if you are looking to possibly add tone and definition to a certain area, liposculpture would be more appropriate but if the area in question is larger requiring a greater amount of fat being removed, then conventional liposuction is needed
Question: What does the Aftercare and Recovery Involve?
After liposculpture, to avoid localised fluid and blood collection underneath the skin, it is important to wear pressure garments which may be used for up to six weeks (three weeks day and night, three weeks overnight only). It is important to realise that although only tiny incisions (~3 mm in length) liposculpture creates a large wound under the skin and adequate rest in the days and weeks after surgery will be required as well as regular gentle exercise.
Question: What are the side effects of LipoSculpture?
- Tenderness, bruising and swelling always occur after liposculpture, but this subsides over a period of weeks and the extent of this can be lessened by taking Arnica for one week prior to surgery and two weeks afterwards. Postoperative discomfort, which may be calmed by mild analgesia such as Paracetamol (avoid Aspirin). Once the swelling has subsided, hardening of the treated area is usual. Massage is advised at this stage to soften and flatten the area. After liposculpture it may take several months for the area to return to normal softness. For this reason, it may help to engage the services if a beauty therapist or physiotherapist for professional massage.
- Numbness and itching of the area may be expected initially and should gradually return to normal (permanent areas of numbness are rare).
- Infection after liposculpture is possible but unlikely and is easily treated by antibiotics.
- Postoperative skin irregularities or asymmetry may occur. It may be necessary to undertake secondary tidy-up procedure, usually six months after the first liposculpture procedure.
- If large amounts of fat are removed, loose skin may be a problem dependent upon the skin site and type. Some patients are fortunate and have elastic skin which contracts well, whereas others (usually those with stretch marks) may require skin tightening procedures in addition to the liposculpture.
- Patients who have loose skin and/or dimpling (cellulite) are not ideal candidates for the liposculpture procedure, which could make these conditions worse.
VASER LIPO
VASER Lipo is a specialised and minimally invasive fat removal and body contouring procedure. VASER (Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance) uses the most advanced ultrasound technology to breakdown fat cells, which are then removed from your body through a suction process. The ultrasound energy only targets fat cells, leaving surrounding tissues undamaged, and involves minimal downtime. VASER Lipo is usually performed under local anaesthetic. A small probe is used to transmit the sound energy and liquefy fat cells prior to removal through a gentle suction process. The VASER Lipo procedure involves minimal downtime and you can get back to your daily routine almost immediately, depending on which area you have targeted. However, because there may be some bruising and swelling., so it is best to postpone any active exercise.
Advantages of VASER Lipo:
- VASER Lipo does not require general anaesthetic
- Minimally invasive – no damage to other body tissues
- Minimal risk of bleeding, bruising and discomfort
- Minimal downtime – VASER Lipo is a walk-in-walk-out procedure
- Less scarring, less bruising
- Stimulates collagen production, resulting in tighter skin for many patients, while conventional Liposuction may occasionally result in sagging skin
Laser lipolysis
Laser lipolysis commonly known as ‘laser lipo’, is a non-invasive liposculpture procedure for the removal of stubborn pockets of fat. The procedure uses a laser to effectively ‘melt’ unwanted fat and then either allows to body to metabolise the melted fat or uses ‘aspiration’, a form of suction that allows the practitioner to remove greater quantities of fat. The results give rise to a more harmonious body shape in a short time, without the bruising and swelling of more aggressive procedures. Laser lipolysis is only recommended for the removal of up to 500mls of fat, so you may need liposuction to remove larger quantities of fat.
During Treatment, local anaesthetic is used in the treatment area, then a small incision will be made in the skin. A very thin cannula (1mm wide hollow metal tube) is inserted into the skin and a laser probe is threaded through to pulse laser light into the fatty tissue to ‘melt’ the fat cells. These melted fat cells are then naturally eliminated by the body or more commonly, the released fat is suctioned after the laser lipolysis procedure to speed up and enhance the results. In addition, the low level laser energy helps to stimulate collagen production in the skin which can result in a tightening of the skin.
Recovery You may be required to rest for an hour or so following treatment, but normal activities can usually be resumed the following day. It is best to avoid vigorous physical activity for 1-2 weeks after this procedure.
Advantages of laser lipolysis
Advantages of laser lipolysis are several fold and extend the development several leagues beyond the traditional tumescent liposuction technique. In traditional liposuction the physical and traumatic action of movement of a large bore canula under negative pressure is required to break away the adipose tissue from its locality before it can be sucked away. During laser lipolysis the laser energy is used to cause a localized melting of the adipose tissue thus forming a more homogenous mass of ‘melted’ liberated lipid. This procedure is not as traumatic to the surrounding tissue and as the laser fiber does not itself act as a vacuum canula it is of a much smaller diameter. The several advantages of the tumescent laser lipolysis approach include the following:
- One of the most important advantages of laser liposuction is the reduction of blood loss. Much less bleeding occurs as a result of tumescent laser lipolysis than of liposuction.
- Recovery times are dramatically improved
- There is associated skin tightening of the area being treated, to reduce the risk of sagging or loose skin, in the area treated.
